Study Groups at St Peter's

Bible Study/fellowship Group

A new group started in March on a general introduction on reading the bible - New and Old Testament - together with its study and understanding, not just reading! Starting with the history and structure of the New Testament, it explores how the gospels and other books fit together and relate to each other, how each has its own message to tell, and explore what made the New Testament we know what it is today.

Called "Lifting the Lid", it's a relaxed way to learn about what makes our faith what it is, and perhaps to find out what shapes your own faith! No knowledge or experience of biblical analysis is required: all we ask is you come with an open and understanding mind, prepared to listen to a variety of views and explore something we all tend to take for granted.

In subsequent meetings (every other week on a Thursday evening) we are looking at the Old Testament and discuss a number of other ways where this home/evening group can add to explorations and expressions of faith.

The next meeting is on Thursday 6th July, looking at Hosea. Newcomers are very welcome.

Comments from attendees already: "I really wish it went on for longer", "I hadn't thought about that!" and "It's really helpful!"
