I have to report that our request for a Millennium Grant has been unsuccessful. I will be making another application which will take a couple of months.
Many of you have been asking - when are we going to start - well like anything worth doing - it will require money. I requested £4,500 - with significant help it can probably be achieved for £3,500. I am prepared to support the project with a donation of £500. Please come forward either publicly or privately with offers of support - money obviously - say £1 per brick - we need 1500 of them and physical offers to dig holes - mix concrete - lay bricks - anyone who can supply materials at cost.
I will arrange for diagrams of the columns to be displayed on the Village notice boards - meanwhile please contact me with any offers of help or donations at THAIR HOUSE, HIGH STREET.
